Never before in the history of Hungarian rich lists has the estimated wealth of a billionaire exceeded HUF 500 billion. Now, it has changed. The new record holder is also not who we might first think. Forbes has made a list of the 10 richest Hungarians. Read on to find out who they are and what they do.
Four times in a row, Lőrinc Mészáros, a billionaire gas fitter, was the country’s richest. However, in the latest Forbes billionaires list, he was dethroned by his eternal rival, Sándor Csányi, the Chairman and CEO of OTP Bank. What is more, the fortunes of Mészáros have fallen so much that a surprise billionaire has managed to keep him from the second place as well. Now, let us see the list.
1. Sándor Csányi
